Frostburg was settled along Braddock's Road, route of the National Road before it was completed in 1818; it is still the town's Main Street. In addition to owning copies of many of the books which have been written about the Route, the Museum has a great deal of information culled from other sources, and such rarities as a complete set of photographs of the Braddock Trail, taken ca. 1910, by John Kennedy Lacock.
